My Approach
I have great enthusiasm and dedication to help all individuals through building rapport, conducting accurate needs assessments, problem solving and goal setting. It’s important to me to help meet clients where they are at.
I work together with my clients, building on their strengths and empowering them to work through personal obstacles. I like to help empower others to improve and work through personal obstacles, focusing on their strengths and working together to achieve their goals.
• Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) helps you identify unhealthy, negative beliefs and behaviors and replace them with healthy, positive ones.
• Dialectical behavior therapy, a type of CBT that teaches individuals behavioral skills to better manage stress, emotions and improve relationships with others.
• Acceptance and commitment therapy, helps one become aware of and accept thoughts and feelings and commit to making changes, increasing their ability to cope with and adjust to situations.
• Interpersonal psychotherapy, addressing problems with current relationships with other people to improve interpersonal skills — how you relate to others, such as family, friends and colleagues.
• Supportive psychotherapy, reinforces the ability to cope with stress and difficult situations.
• EMDR, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and panic disorders. EMDR therapy does not require talking in detail about the distressing issue or completing homework between sessions. EMDR therapy, rather than focusing on changing the emotions, thoughts, or behaviors resulting from the distressing issue, allows the brain to resume its natural healing process. (source – EMDRIA)
